Capable of thriving in most climates, silverfish prefer to dwell in dark, damp areas such as sub-floors, roof spaces, kitchens and bathrooms. Silverfish are especially attracted to paper and damp humid environments and are commonly found in stored boxes, books, wallpaper and clothing. Silverfish are also nocturnal, they are secretive, and the severity of an infestation may go unnoticed for long periods of time allowing for population explosions.
Treatment:
Silverfish tend to be present all over a house (especially if there is wallpaper) so a chemical spray treatment is required and a gaseous treatment in the roof space tends to be applied just incase the infestation is present there as well.
