Pest control is a lot more than just catching rodents. Carrying out spray treatments is where we spend the majority of our time, we can use a variety of methods to help manage pests like these. Annual maintenance is key in most domestic situations where insect pests become a problem. Once the pest in question get a chance to establish themselves they can be tougher to resolve because of increased population and then the spread of said population. On the flipside annual spraying keeps the barriers up and makes it a negative environment for insect pests which makes it very hard for them to become established in the first place.
Pest Control around the home is important for the health, safety and comfort of your family and even your pets. Controlling rodents is also important because it helps protect your home and its contents from damage and destruction. Rodent prevention and control can save a lot of time and money in the long run, we will help you manage and control the situation to keep rodents under control and out of your home.
At the core of our profession is Health & Safety, we literally don’t have access to chemicals unless they pass EPA guidelines. Then we have to follow detailed Safety Data Sheets and labels on the chemicals to use those chemicals correctly – this is a legislative process which means we are required by law to follow the label & SDS! Then lastly there is the qualification itself which allows only people who have achieved the Urban Pest Management Certificate to apply hazardous substances that fall into the 3/6/9 classifications – this again is a legislative process that makes it illegal to spray these types of hazardous substances without the correct qualifications.
There is not a full list of who has attained this qualification but there is a list from PMANZ of registered technicians across NZ. To get that status you have to have acquired the qualification and also attend upskilling throughout the year to keep yourself up to date with current best practice. We currently have 3 registered PMANZ members with 2 of the 3 being master registered technicians.
